“I have a bit of a different perspective from many of those involved in photographic instruction in the modern world. I think it is based on being a photographer who started in a very old-fashioned environment with an emphasis on the science of photography that was much more complicated and intense than it is today in the digital world. In the days of film and the darkroom it was much more difficult to learn basic competence for the results to be a semi-decent image.”
